Provident Pediatric Medical DayCare, Inc. is the successor to pediatric day care centers in Lawnside, NJ and Pleasantville, NJ that were previously owned and operated under two other companies. In 2000, the present owner of Provident Medical, Leeanna Roman, a bold Hispanic entrepreneur, took over the operation of the day care centers which provide care for medically fragile children who are unable to attend traditional daycare facilities. The former owner of the centers could no longer operate the facilities due to financial losses and in 2001 Ms. Roman began to negotiate the purchase of the assets and start the financial turn around of the business.
Since finalizing the purchase of the business with some financial assistance in the form of working capital from Cooperative Business Assistance Corporation and other financing from one of our partner banks, Ms. Roman has successful operated the two existing facilities and in 2003 opened a third 14,000 square foot facility in the City of Camden. In 2004 Cooperative Business participated with a banking partner to open a fourth facility of 10,000 square feet in Berlin, NJ and recently Provident Pediatric, again with Cooperative Business assistance, acquired a facility in Atlantic City consolidating its services with the former Pleasantville site to serve additional children.
Presently Provident Medical services over 100 children with 47 employees. In 2007, CEO Leeanna Roman and the Executive Director of Cooperative Business, Michael Diemer, were given awards by the New Jersey District of the U.S. Small Business Administration for Entrepreneur of the Year and Financial Champion of the Year respectively.
