The Connecticut Housing Investment Fund, Inc. (CHIF) is a private, nonprofit organization established to finance the rehabilitation and construction of affordable housing throughout Connecticut. CHIF's mission is to provide flexible financing, loan servicing, and technical services to developers and homeowners to improve and increase the supply of affordable housing to Connecticut residents. Since its incorporation in 1968, CHIF has assisted more than 22,000 Connecticut families, and provided more than $135MM in financing to assist individuals and organizations purchase, rehabilitate, or construct homes for low and moderate income families.
