Advocacy and Community Education team teaches community residents, stakeholders and supporters to engage in New York’s civic life and to speak out on immigrant, housing and quality–of-life issues.  Renaissance Economic Development Corp. assists entrepreneurs who are seeking to start or expand a small business by providing them with direct loans, grants and individual counseling.  REDC provides loans and technical assistance to hundreds of minority- and women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs, and since 1997, REDC has assisted over 2,500 small business owners, with nearly $15 million in capital.
As the first homeownership center serving New York City’s Asian American community, Community Development Fund’s objective is to expand housing opportunities in under-served communities by providing full cycle of homeownership services (pre-and post-purchase) and offering education through workshops and seminars.  In its eleven-year history, AAFE CDF has secured over $176 million in mortgage financing for over 1,300 clients, while providing counseling to almost 6,000 prospective homeowners.
Since 1988, Community Planning and Development has completed s over 500 residential and 35 commercial units through the investment of nearly $60 million of public and private funds.  Community Planning and Research provides planning research to strengthen our public policy, project-based advocacy and community-based technical assistance.  Community Technology Center offers computer classes and internet access to adults and youth.  On an annual basis, over 500 students enroll in classes and 900 people make use of the Center’s facilities.
More than 20,000 low-income residents use Housing, Immigration and Social Services each year for legal counseling, anti-eviction assistance, English-as-a-Second language instruction, entitlement services, and citizenship assistance.   Opened in October 2005, our Community Center/b> provides a gathering place for AAFE tenants, clients, and other neighborhood residents to participate in cultural and educational programs.  AAFE Management Company, Inc. manages all of its developments including over 425,350 residential units and 30 commercial storefronts.
