Banco Los Andes ProCredit S.A. is a microfinance institution established in Bolivia, whose mission is to deliver credit and saving services to micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses active in commerce, service, housing and industrial fields. Our Bank, is one of twenty two banks owned by Procredit Holding AG in Germany. One of its goals is to aid the poor and social disadvantage families to emerge in their economic and social development.
- Banco Los Andes ProCredit provides only individual loans and does not employ a group
methodology. The institution provides loans to micro and small enterprises in the
commercial/production and service sectors. This mix of micro and small business has supported the
financial health and economic impact of the organization. While the majority of Los Andes
ProCredit’s borrowers are engaged in commerce, other businesses like manufacturing, services and
agribusiness are also financed. Los Andes ProCredit’s social contribution extends to loans offered
for constructing basic services such as drinking water and sewage facilities. Los Andes ProCredit
is also meeting a critical financing need, traditionally made available on much more onerous terms
by local pawnshops.
- In rural Bolivia, Banco Los Andes ProCredit works closely with the
farming population and provides a stable financial presence in this seasonal business. The Bank
understands the work ethic and character of this population and provides the financing needed for
rural households to sustain them through the long growing season.
Banco Los Andes ProCredit is present in many of Bolivia’s largest cities including La Paz, Sucre, Potosí, Tarija, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, and Beni. While a majority of its current client population is from urban and semi-urban communities, the bank is making a concerted effort to expand its business into rural areas.
