Program brings Community Investing to Lesbian/Gays Online

New parternship between the Gay Financial Network and Calvert Foundation to provide community
Calvert Foundation and gfn.com, the Gay Financial Network, the premier online source of business
and financial news, information and services for the gay and lesbian community, today announced the
launch of the gfn.community Investments program: http://sfcom.iserver.net/gfn/ci/index.cgi
The program, as part of a strategic relationship between Calvert Foundation and gfn.com, will
channel investor capital to LGBT community lending, international micro-credit, and domestic
community development. Additionally, according to the terms of the agreement, gfn.com will enable
Calvert Foundation to present resource tools for the gay and lesbian community online to learn more
about Community Investing.

gender, income, ethnicity and sexual orientation,” said Walter Schubert, founder and chairman,
gfn.com, the Gay Financial Network. “Calvert Foundation offers a professionally managed Community
Investment product and has a solid reputation in socially responsible investing.”

gfn.community Investments, a targeted program of Calvert Foundation’s Community Investment
Note, will offer investors the ability to invest into a professionally managed global portfolio of
community development non-profits. With account minimums of $1,000 for terms of 1, 3 or 5 years,
this high social-impact investment is available to a broad range of individuals. Funds will be
targeted equally to three program areas: LGBT supportive community lending domestically,
International microcredit funding, and Domestic affordable housing and small business development.
Calvert Foundation’s expertise will enhance gfn.com research tools with a gfn.community
Investment Center, including Community Investment Profiles and a NewsWire. The Center provides a
full depth of information on community development non-profits, including programmatic profiles,
stories, pictures, financial information and news. Other gfn.community Investment Center features
are planned in the coming months.
