Background
ECDI provides equity, near-equity and debt to businesses located in the
56 counties and parishes that make up the Delta regions of Arkansas, Louisiana
and Mississippi. The fund makes investments in companies that offer good
wages, benefits, and training opportunities to their workers. ECDI, in
exchange for providing financing, can take an equity position in certain
companies (usually a minority ownership position) in a wide variety of
forms, guided by its analysis of which equity investment terms best suit
the needs of each venture and whether an equity position offers a realistic
prospect for capital gain. The fund is a program of the Enterprise Corporation
of the Delta and has a range of Commercial Finance products, Technical
Assistance programs, and other programs in conjunction with area partners.
Social Mission
ECD is a nonprofit business development organization whose primary mission
is to improve the quality of life for low and moderate-income residents
of the Delta and rural regions of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Investment Information
The Fund invests in businesses located in the Mississippi River Delta
and rural regions of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. ECD Investments
will invest in all industries, at all stages of development, and typically
makes investments of between $50,000 and $1 million.
