Background
Established in 1993, the African-American Venture Capital Fund, LLC (AAVCF)
was formed to provide equity capital investment in African-American owned
businesses in the greater Louisville area. The AAVCF provides equity capital
for African-American entrepreneurs who are considering owning their own
business, expanding an existing business, acquiring a business, or are
in need of capital for business reasons.
Social Mission
The Fund aims to enhance the livelihoods of African-Americans in the greater
Louisville area by providing capital to grow businesses that create good
jobs and wealth for their owners and employees.
Investment Information
AAVCF is located in Louisville, Kentucky and the majority of its investments
to date also have been in Louisville. The Fund, however, is able to invest
in other locations, such as Indianapolis, Indiana and Cincinnati, Ohio.
AAVCF invests in all industries and stages of development, with investments
ranging from $10,000 to $1 million. The Fund has no co-investment preferences.
